Manu “Swish” Goswami is incredible. He is an award-winning serial tech entrepreneur and innovator who, at 20 years old, has already founded and sold multiple companies. During this Q&A, we discuss how he puts out so much awesome content every week, the best way to to connect with people, and higher education.

 

Leveraging LinkedIn

 

Swish has an impressive reach on LinkedIn (he’s even a Campus Editor for LinkedIn at University of Toronto). He posts three or four times a day and, on average, he gets over 100k views on each post. Some of his posts get millions of views.

 

Swish believes that the best way to organically grow your platform is connecting to and helping people on social media, and LinkedIn is criminally underused by young entrepreneurs.

 

The Best Way to Connect

 

The best way to connect with someone is to interview them because you’re not asking for something – you can actually add value to the person you’re trying to connect with by giving them a new platform and spreading their message.

 

Even if you’re having a coffee meeting, make sure you actually connect with the person and understand who they are and where they come from.

 

Why University Still Matters

 

Although there is a growing bias against education, largely driven by people like Gary Vee, higher education is an incredible opportunity to develop personally, learn to live alone, and mature.

 

Many universities also support entrepreneurship! It doesn’t have to be a choice between being an entrepreneur and getting a degree.
